In 2009, the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act was passed. The purpose of this act was to facilitate the use of technology, and specifically electronic information exchange within the medical industry. HITECH created an onslaught of complicated regulations and industrial demands. Pall was there to assist customers through this daunting process from the very beginning.
As medical procedures became more complicated and new fields of medicine evolved, so too did the industry needs. Medical devices today are not the same as medical devices made 20 years ago, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) late in 2016 released new guidance for certain medical devices to prevent these devices from being used maliciously. Guidance was also issues around general wellness devices, such as fitness trackers. For the medical industry the last decade has been full of changes, but the one constant has been Pall experts: assisting clients one at a time.
